The Ohio Department of Job and Family Services (ODJFS) offers Health Care to the following qualified recipients:
- Children (up to age 19)
- Pregnant Women
- Families with children under age 18
- Adults age 65 and over
- Individuals who are legally blind
- Individuals with disabilities
- Certain women screened for breast and/or cervical cancer under the Center for Disease Control and Prevention's Breast & Cervical Cancer Early Detection Program
Qualified recipients are then put into one of two programs. Covered Families and Children (CFC) or the Age, Blind or Disabled (ABD).
WellCare of Ohio is a managed care plan (MCP) that Covered Families and Children (CFC) program (including Healthy Start and Healthy Families) or the Aged, Blind, or Disabled (ABD) program, can choose to join.
WellCare is available effective 12/01/2006 for CFC members and 01/01/2007 for ABD members, in the following Northeast Region counties: Ashtabula, Cuyahoga, Erie, Geauga, Huron, Lake, Lorain, and Medina.
